IDEN Group Transforms B2B Operations with Custom Truvio Commerce Solution
About IDEN Group
As a long-established Berlin-based company, the IDEN Group is one of the leading wholesale companies of stationery, toys and party supplies. With its core competencies, the trading company acts as a cooperation partner for retailers, a systemservice provider for chain stores, and a reliable service provider for leading eCommerce platforms. The company manages a product range of over 100,000 items and operates from multiple warehouse locations.
Industry:
Wholesale (stationery, toys and party supplies)
Company size:
200 - 500
Location:
Germany
Solutions:
eCommerce, PIM, CMS
The Challenge:
Modernizing IDEN's technological foundation
The IDEN Group, as a leading German wholesaler, wanted to level up their digital landscape and was in the process of replacing their old ERP system with Business Central.
During this time, the IDEN Group decided to also replace their connected custom-built web shop with a modern platform that would integrate with their new ERP system. The new solution would also need to handle IDEN's complex pricing and purchasing models: With individualized pricing and over 100,000 products stored in multiple warehouse locations, the logistical challenge was huge. Customers would have to be able to place orders from the different warehouses with their individual prices and discounts. This extended to returns, where these logics would have to be reversed and which the solution needed to accommodate as well.

Out-of-the-box solutions were not able to handle their complex processes, so they needed a platform that could be customized to fit their needs. This is where Truvio Commerce became involved, as the solution that offered many of their required features out-of-the-box but was adjustable enough to be tailored to their specific processes.
Additionally, the IDEN Group wanted to implement a PIM system to manage their 100,000 products. Truvio offers a PIM system included in their Digital Experience Platform, which eliminated the need for a separate solution that would complicate IDEN's tech stack.
The Solution:
Truvio Commerce platform with custom features
Both the ERP and eCommerce system were replaced simultaneously, and Iden achieved a parallel go-live.
As a family-owned business, IDEN places great importance on strong relationships with both customers and vendors. Truvio Commerce embraced this approach, working closely with IDEN's team, the owners and CEO, and visiting their Berlin headquarters multiple times. This close collaboration ensured that the solution was tailored to IDEN's specific needs and could be adjusted along the way.

The IDEN Group selected Truvio's digital experience platform to unify CMS, PIM, and eCommerce into a single, powerful solution. Key features of the new platform include:
-
Seamless integration with Microsoft Dynamics D365 Business Central: Providing real-time pricing and inventory updates.
-
Truvio PIM: Efficiently managing Iden's extensive catalogue of over 100,000 products, ensuring accurate and up-to-date product information.
-
Improved navigation and usability for a more efficient shopping experience.
-
A multiple shopping cart system: Allowing IDEN's B2B customers to manage multiple orders, collaborate with colleagues by adding products to shared carts, and even upload bulk orders via Excel.
-
A redesigned return management process: Handling complex B2B returns from different warehouses and baskets efficiently.
-
Personalized search results and recommendations.
-
Integration of a DAM system: Simplifying the management of digital assets such as images, videos, and product documentation.
"With our new platform, we’re not just digitally up to date - we’re ready for what’s next."
The Result:
A flexible and scalable solution for future growth
The implementation of Truvio's solution has transformed IDEN's eCommerce operations, significantly improving both customer experience and internal efficiency.
Customers have responded positively to the new platform, praising its modern design, intuitive ordering process with custom features like the multiple carts optionality, and enhanced navigation. With faster search functionality and personalized product recommendations, finding and purchasing the right products has become easier than ever.
Internally, the system has improved operations, reducing manual work and increasing efficiency. The intuitive drag-and-drop editor allows non-technical teams to update content effortlessly, so that the website stays dynamic and up to date. Automated real-time pricing updates have minimized manual input and ensure that customers always see their correct price.
The platform’s adaptability really showed when several new features were quickly implemented post-launch, following customer feedback. This demonstrates how Truvio Commerce continues to evolve with IDEN's needs.
Looking ahead, the IDEN Group is already planning new integrations. The company is confident that Truvio's flexible and scalable solution will support its future growth.
